Log Cabin Dog House

Log cabin style dog houses are designed for those who prefer the rustic look in their dog houses. The "classic" log cabin dog house features cedar wood walls and a peaked roof with cedar shingles. A truly authentic log cabin dog house will be made from actual logs that are notched together at the ends. However, most commercially available dog houses are made with conventional  framing lumber faced with rounded cedar siding.

Some log cabin dog houses have stylish touches such as extended roof lines, wooden poles running vertically at all four corners as well as along the roof peak, and sunroom style ventilation triangles above the doorway.
